Yevgen SHELEST, Head of the Defense and Security Policy Center.
General lieutenant retired, doctor of military sciences, specialty “Armed Forces Development”.
Born in 1956. Since 1973 to 2008 – service in the Armed Forces, graduated from Kyiv Higher military institute in 1977 and Military Academy named after Frunze in 1988, National Defense Academy of Ukraine in 2003.
He served in the Armed Forces troops on the positions starting from platoon leader up to regiment commander, in the Land Forces HQ and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the positions from deputy head of section up to the Head of the Main Directorate of Defence Planning of the GS of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
While service in General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took part in development of Human Resources Management in the General Staff and Armed Forces of Ukraine; development of Planning Defense System; creation of State Program of Ukrainian Armed Forces development for 2006-2011; creation and implementation of system of informational-analytical support of the defense planning; took part in organization defense review in Ukraine. After retiring from the Armed Forces of Ukraine engaged in development and implementation of project on creation and development of independent public organization “Defense and Security Policy Centre”.
Married, has a son and a daughter.

Born in 1965, 1982-2008 – service in the Armed Forces, in 1987 – graduated from Higher Kyiv air-defense missile engineer institute, in 2001 – graduated from Kharkiv Military University.
He served on the positions starting from Head of Station at State Scientific Testin Field to Deputy Head of Directorate of the General Staff of Ukraine.
During the service in the General Staff, he was involved in solving of the issues of formation of the main indicators of defense planning, took part in development of the State Programme for development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2006-2011, implementation of the defense planning system. After his retiring he is engaged in the issues of formation and development of the Center.
Married, has two sons.
Sergiy KUNYTSKIY
Head of the organizational section of the Defense and Security Policy Center
Colonel retired.
Born in 1971, since 1988 to 2008 – served in the Armed Forces, in 1988 graduated from Kyiv military lyceum named after Suvorov, in 1922 – from Kyiv Higher tank engineering institute, in 2006 – from National Defense Academy.
He served on the position starting from platoon leader up to the head of section in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the retiring he is engaged in the issues of formation and development of the Center.
Married, has a daughter.
Stanislav GURAK
Head of the informational-analytic section of the Center
Captain retired.
Born in 1981, since 1998 up to 2008 – served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in 2003 – graduated from the military institute of T. Shevchenko national university.
He served on the position starting from a head of financial service of the separated battalion to the officer of the section in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After his retiring he is involved in Euro Atlantic integration process.

Olexander RAZUMTSEV
Head of the social service of the Center
Colonel retired, doctor of science.
Born in 1956, since 1973 up to 1999 – served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 1977 graduated from Sumi Higher Command Artillery Institute, in 1988 graduated from Philosophy Faculty of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
He served on the positions starting from commander of artillery battalion to doctoral candidate of social-humanitarian sciences of National Defense Academy of Ukraine. After retiring involved in scientific research on theory and practice of social management issues, social processes and events in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Married, has two sons and a daughter.
